  FOCUS PROGRAM IN CUBA

The FOCUS Program in Cuba engenders a dynamic interchange of ideas and lively debate among students and professors about Cuban history and culture, from the discovery to the present. All students in the FOCUS Program attend a companion two-term course to encourage wider exploration of the seminar topic, covering different aspects of Cuba’s politics, music, architecture, literature, film and visual arts. Students must also register in a Spanish course, the level of which is determined by their language placement exam. For the last 5 years, the FOCUS Program in Cuba has included a week-study trip to Havana during the Spring semester. The program includes extensive out-of-classroom activities and does not conflict with requirements for any departmental major or pre-professional program.
